Ukiyo (浮世)
floating world, usually known for paintings ( ukiyoe , 浮世 絵: paintings of the floating world), a concept that has so moved the heart of Japan, which has deep roots Japan in the past, and whose long branches reaching to the future of the world (it was the style that most influenced, directly from the 1800's artists like Van Gogh).
With all that it brings a sense of irony view of the transience of things, a way of understanding the harsh world, visually and emotionally powerful, yet delicate and refined, clean in its continuous refinement of style.

this pretext will take you through a prison / school and an art museum I have visited 7 October 2007.

To my extreme surprise, my acquiescence towards the gentle ways of the people who have brought a host to my guest, a very nice man in his fifties, who lives away from family for work, to accompany me in a beautiful school building also used as a prison for a celebrity of the mid-19th century.
life there had to be sure hard, but the refined pleasures that they could be found transpired from the sober simplicity of luxury finishes.



start from the parking lot showing off from this complex, surrounded by white walls of a bright morning in Japanese. It is bordered to the north with a school currently used, a sign that if you find a good location for a function, why change? it's because of Chinese geomancy?



is a room for the reception, opening onto a courtyard, and the enormous tokonoma (English link. Alcova ceremonial imaging) who was behind the head of school is important to understand what the use of space in order to impress visitors with their status.
