How Much Would A Retaining Wall Cost
Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriaran
Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriaran died October 28, 1959. He was in Camaguey, where he quelled a revolt anti-revolutionary and arrested the commander batista Huber Matos. He set off in flight from the airport to board a small twin-engine along with its pilot, bound for home in Havana. Shortly after the tone of his aircraft disappeared from radar. He was flying the sea and the searches that were later arranged for his discovery gave no results. Neither the bodies of two men, or the plane or its wreckage were found. Officially, proof in hand, the cause of the disaster is attributed to an unexpected storm. But on his death remains a mystery. There are those who believe in the theory of the accident or who, like Che Guevara, blames the CIA. It appears that the same day an ex-pilot of the Batista was forced to land to refuel on the island, posing as an army officer, and witnesses say they saw smoke coming from the guns of his plane which then headed for U.S. shores. Others say, however, that in organizing the attack were the same revolutionary leaders, worried about the growing popularity of Camilo and his political views that differed from those of Castro and Guevara. Still others think that the incident in true there never has been and is headed for the coasts of Florida, and people swear they saw him walking through Miami, beardless and with long cigar in his mouth. Among all these theories, and among many other assumptions that can be done about his death, the only thing that remains undisputed is that the entire Cuban population lost its greatest folk hero. Of all the protagonists of the revolution, Camilo was undoubtedly the most loved. An entire people saw it in his courage. Through its actions, military and non-Cubans showed that it was necessary to change one's destiny simply awareness of the dignity of man. Not military or political strategist. Not the guerrilla or the diplomat. Simply the man. The man who did not accept dictatorship and charges. The man who did not remain inert in the face of cruelty and persecution. Camilo entered the hearts of Cubans and his untimely death, only twenty-seven, only increased the love they felt for him. Suffice it to say that even today, nearly half a century after his death, on the day of the anniversary, many people travel to seaside Cubans to throw flowers into the water and petals in her memory.
